Mileage. Does your company take part of the mileage that you are owed?

For instance, if you are owed 100 miles after you deduct whatever miles the insurance deducts from their claims, does your company then take some of your mileage for themselves?

Why would anyone work for a company, a vendor, and agree to surrendering a portion of the monies paid to defray incurred vehicle expenses? And after they agreed and the vendor ripped them off, why would they complain about it?

I never knew about it. There was no written agreement that pertained to this. This vendor does not let the adjusters see the invoices sent in either. I assumed I was being ripped off. So you are saying as an IA with years of experience, that this is bullshit?

I am clearly saying, "know before you go". This is a dog eat dog business where the adjuster has little if any recourse after the fact.

"Dog eat dog"? I prefer to call a spade a spade. There are a lot of thieves in this business who steal from their adjusters. Nothing lower than someone who steals from the very people making him money.

More thieves than you can imagine and plenty of fools to steal from.

They should only take a percentage of the fee bill. And you should have the fee schedule. How can you do bookkeeing without the flat rate schedule and T&E rates? These aren't confidential.

Actually "they" should do what "they" agreed to do. Know before you go and if you don't shame on you.

Proper bookkeeping cannot be accomplished without complete information.

If they are low-lifes, they can take part of your mileage, not give you a fee schedule, and pay you whatever they want.  Then they can justify it by saying they don't want to overcharge the carrier so that they can keep the business-while at the same time making themselves rich.
