    Here's a little something we can all enjoy sinking our teeth into. Have you noticed the new ad posted here on CADO by Insurance Recruiting Specialists, a division of Big Dawg Enterprises? It's a repeat of their usual " We have immediate openings" ad. Just for fun I called to see if they, indeed, had any openings and they said, "No. The ad is just to draw in resumes".

    Here's the rub. The ad specifically says they have immediate employment openings, yet they admit they do not. Something in the back of my pea-brain is screaming , 'FALSE & DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING!'. Tho this ad originates in Phoenix, Arizona, it has been placed on a Texas website and is subject to the powers of the State Attorney Generals Office in beautiful downtown Austin, Texas. Doesn't the Great State Of Texas frown on False & Deceptive advertising? Aren't there penalties for such intentional acts? Do you think that just maybe our website owner might want to do a little investigating about this situation.

    After all, anyone of us are naught but consumers seeking only protection from charlatans and snake oil vendors, and dependant on public servants to provide legal remedies to discourage ner-do-wells from preying on we innocents.

    These people are amazing. I don't know how they make a living. I never received the 'package' they were to send etc. I suppose they are just collecting resumes.

    Well, they aren't really a joke, per se. It's more like the down-on-the-farm story about the sow with one piglet too many. Somebodies always gonna be runnin' around looking for a spare teat. That is how IRS and all the rest of the vendors are in this brave new lean world of too much nice weather. All IRS has to do is compose a new ad to run saying they are expanding their workforce and invite resumes. To use this existing ad is, besides being legally questionable, just plain lazy. This ad is based on being on the cusp of getting orders for people to staff the listed carrier locations, but it all fell thru when the storms fell thru. So, what do they do? Just rerun the old ad, now with entirely false, outdated information. That's what has happened. Yesterday, all was hopeful and true. Today, it all turned to porcine offal.

    Floridaboy, I appreciate the offer, however I make it a policy to avoid off-forum discussions as it invariably leads to behind the scenes politicing and gossip. No offense intended, but I must respectfully limit conversing to the forums. Also, there is the security issue for both of us. Thank you for the offer.

    Sure sounds false and misleading to me, if they do not have "some kind" of a job in those 4 cities. Maybe they have clerical jobs, or who knows what kind of job. They don't really claim to have adjuster jobs available.

    Joe, your post does not state that you contacted them and if so what the reply was. Can you also confirm that they do not have assignments or jobs for adjusters in the listed location. When I visit the website they list jobs for examiners in the cities that they listed.

    Mostly I rely on the feedback from visitors that use the Classifieds.  There is a link on each ad that allows visitors to provide feedback.  In some cases the feedback results in the removal of the ad.   The Classifieds are only offered as a service to the membership of this community and the claims handling industry.  If the community does not see a benefit from the Classifieds then we can shut it down.

    I see the Classifieds as a good and useful feature, and one I have used in the past to good results, including with IRS in 2008. I would request we not throw the baby out with the bath water. For that matter, not even IRS. I contend IRS needs to cease the use of that ad when there is no assignments to be had. They should pull it and use an ad that is truthful in describing the need they have, i.e. a desire to broaden their staffing base of adjusters.

    Seems within the last 4-6 weeks we had a similar discussion about IRS - I posted that I previously had some interaction with them and got tired of them jerking my chain. It's the typical problem with many of these temp agencies; they advertise when they don't have jobs just to get you to send in a resume. Then, they hem & haw about this and that opportunity when in fact they have nothing or, they'll call you one day and want to know if you can be somewhere (1500 miles) the next day IF the job comes through. As usual, word to the wise is listen to others who've dealt with a particular vendor and then make an 'informed' choice. IRS, Western Recruiters, Insurance Overland, etc are all seem to have the same business acumen and treat adjusters like fodder when it should be a collaborative effort.
