Hello, I live in Rosenberg Tx, I have worked for Servpro of Bellaire scoping damaged houses for three years, I was recently laid off and I am excited about and want to become a field property adjuster, as I would like to stay in the same field., I saw over the years what adjusters do , and feel that I have basicly been doing the same thing. I would like to attend the adjuster school , I am trying to see if TWC will pay for training, or to see if anybody offers paid training . or if theadjuster school is a good school.  any suggestions?

Go back to writing estimates for Servpro. Being a field adjuster is beyond your reach.

That's rather hostile, isn't it? Not wrong - but hostile.

Nothing hostile intended, I assure you, just sound, thoughtful advice. We see and hear constant positive advice, 3 day Texas school, Citizens workshop, Catastrophe training manual, adjusting ain't rocket science, perhaps this profession isn't as easy as is advertised.

"Researchers IBISWorld predicted the state's rebuilding would add 10 billion Australian dollars ($9.9 billion) in revenue to the construction industry over the next two years but expects sharp losses for industries such as agriculture, tourism, insurance, mining and transport and logistics"

Maybe there is work for an experienced construction estimator in AUS?

How many adjuster wantabes have spent up to $5000 or more (fees travel equipment and licences) in the last 4 years for 1 or less assignments? 5 thousand 10 thousand more?
Go ahead line up and spend your money, there are plenty ready to take it.

And I come across as being or at least sounding "hostile" for my real world opinion.

Nothing like busting your hump, intellectually and financially, only to find out that the bird of paradise is in your nose.

If the Servpro work included fullblown repair estimates up to about 100k, the gentlemen would have a head start as an adjuster trainee. If the estimates were just dehu's and fans, not so much.

I gave a lot of help to a very nice guy who had some CAT experience and owned a roofing contractor before. He got some daily claims with his gumption and some pointers from me. I know he was hustling in several states to get work, but when he recently told me how very little he made for the year in adjusting it just made me sad for him and his family. He's doing OK with roofing work, and God bless him, but this is not an easy business to make a living at. I am blessed to have a daily claims job in a metropolitan area.

I started out on the construction side too, so i know it can be done. Katrina was my big break. Anyone know when the next Katrina is scheduled?
