Bill in Florida dealing with many property insurance issues includes this exception to licensing requirements.

"(n) An applicant for license as a customer representative with respect to property insurance who has earned the designation of Certified Insurance Representative (CIR) from the National Association of Christian Catastrophe Insurance Adjusters."

Has anyone ever heard of them?

It is my understanding that the organization was started by a group of adjusters that provided training years ago.

A search of the name of the group turned up this article in the Sun Sentinel.

I tried to contact them a couple of years ago about joining the organization but they never replied to any of of my emails. I finally gave up.

I joined about 4 years ago. I got one call from the president, while I was with my wife in a Lake Charles Casino a month or so later. Never got another word from him. I would print fool behind my name, before his designation.

    Hello All,

On behalf of all NACCIA volunteers and members, I apologize to those who have not received a prompt response to membership requests. Our staff is 100% volunteer, and after Wilma and through '06 we were quickly overwhelmed with membership requests, and that - coupled with technical issues re. the membership form - left many inquiries unanswered.

Again, we are sorry to those who felt slighted, and would very much like to extend a warm welcome to anyone interested. We would also love to hear from anyone interested in volunteering.

Please contact NACCIA at info@christianadjusters.com if interested in membership or if you have questions about the association, our mission, or any other matter.

Also, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions directly. My cell phone is 561-452-8989

    Thank you!

    Adam

Ray, if I understand your statement correctly, that was harsh.  It appears that the association has been laid to rest and you're taking a shot at a dead horse.

It was harsh, but letters behind your name-seems over the top,be careful of what you join. I am not sure I made a good decision.

If some of you people want letters behind your name, try to get on the AF board.

Sounds like a conflict of interest, adjusters praying for a storm? Seriously, if a C.I.R. designation is sufficient to waive licensing for a particular organization then, the focus should not be on a particular organization but the certification itself. Perhaps, the State would be better served by requiring ALL applicants (regardless of the organization to which they belong) have obtained the same level of supposed competence - why not have the State administer and require a similar test as a requisite for a license?
