Now is the time to download the photo adjuster sofware. I feel strongly that work will be in the making in about 10 days. We have used this wonderful and time saving software for a number of years now. The digital format on photo adjuster is accepted in court, as I have been there. It is also acceptable in other legal arenas. I had an appraisal where the umpire was accepting the photos, but not the P.A. I took a picture of the umpire, who was a retired federal judge, tried to alter the photo in his presence, and it showed up in the evidence trail report. It was accepted.
I don't work for this company, but after four decades + in this business, and fooling with photography for 50 years, I recognize a superb product. Go to Photoadjuster.com and download a 30 day trial and then buy it. Its inexpensive for the product received and the results. By the way, don't be afraid to take a lot of pictures. You don't have to send them with your report, but you will have them if something comes up questioning your estimate or anything else about the file. You can save the photos to your hard disc, zip disc, or cd/rw to future use. |

I WILL TRY AGAIN TOM, I just answered your post and got kicked off the line , we have a thunder boomer. A timely subject , I was just telling Chuck it was on my list of tools today in a post. I am going to download before I get off line. Got any bets on the huricane, this is going to be a very tense situation. Livelyhood for some destruction for others. I have my FWUA cert but think I would have to decline an assignment unless I can help someone. Besides this thing may head for Mexico. |

We are working in Lafayette, LA. We have many churchs with multiple locations and quite a number of residential losses. I have always taken many, many photos. I do not print all of them, but they are availble if questions come up. That is one reason I use the photoadjuster. Ease of loading, ease of creating remarks by building macros, ease of moving the photos around so the examiners have a correct flow of photos, and the quality of the photo is excellent when using a 100+ white 24# paper. We use Kokak bright white inkjet paper. I save the photos after I have created them in PDF format and save them in folders, by week, on a CD/RW disc for preservation. Yes, it costs a few bucks to use, but pays for itself in ease of use with just several claims. I have an old laptop that I keep in the truck for the GPS and check the photos on it to make sure the disc is okay before leaving the loss. That way I don't have to go back if the disc is bad, and believe me, there are bad new discs. This is a program that saves time, gives an excellent product, and is inexpensive. Time is money. |

Tom, Since I downloaded the photo adjuster on your recommendation, I have been playing around with it and found it to be the right tool for this job. And like you I have the CD R/RW which I find is a must for archives. Now I'll have to come up with the macros, hopefully I can run into someone who has a bunch made up so I can get some ideas or even cheat and copy. I have a great printer, its not all that portable but it does have a fast scanner with the slots for my smart cards. I have owned several but this is my pick. It is also a stand alone for photos, fax and scanner. Now I need a RED van to set up in. Any thing but white. I can't imagine what those souls are going through in Maryland, all the suffering of the families created by one person without any remorse or thought for the feelings of others. He will pay the debt, and I hope he has many years of confinement to think about what he has done. If it was up to me it would all be in solitary confinement. He would never be permitted to see another human, even if it meant a blindfold when treated by a doctor. |

I have been experimenting with 3.5 floppies and have found that after using them about 8 times, they begin to give problems. Janice and I now throw them away after using them 8 to 10 times. Be sure and keep your discs away from speakers, or anything magnetic after taking your photos. Always remember to check you discs with photo adjuster before leaving your claim sight. We strongly recommend the photo adjuster software. Poop occurs you know, and you don't need problems in a cat situation. Check and double check your scopes and photos before you leave.
I am working on a telescoping pole to take photos of roofs that are too dangerous to climb. Will keep you advised on this. |

Memo to Tom Toll: Tom, I think if you will check with a really good camera shop you will find they already have telescoping photo poles which will meet your needs, are inexpensive, and will telescope out to 12' to 16' feet. They are sturdy and lightweight and have the attachment screw built right in to fit and hold your camera. I've had one for years and my recollection is that it cost less than $25.00. |
