If a tree falls and damages coverage A property, how much would you allow for debris removal. Take in consideration that you also have 5 large pine trees down in the yard that didn't hit anything. The tree that hit the fence was only 25 feet tall with a 1' circumference. Would you allow the total $500 or just for cleaning up the tree that hit Cov. A.? |

Under your loss scenario, is your HO-3 an ISO form or the State Farm policy?

I've seen it interpreted both ways and it depends what state you are in. When I was in NC in December I was told that if there was any Cov. A damage at all the $500 limit could be applied not only to the tree that hit the house but to all fallen trees on the property and the deductible absorbed. Other storms I've worked I was told the $500 limit only applies to the tree that hit cov. A. In Pennsylvania there is $150 available for tree debris even if cov. A is not damaged. This is all under State Farm policies. |

Same way here Kile. Depends on the state or regions interpretation. Just something to ponder. See, we can be civil. |

FP 7955 State Farm Home Owner Policy I assume is taken from the ISO HO3.
FP7955: $500 for tree removal , covered perils; fire and lightning only, unless tree damages covered structure. Wind is not listed as a covered peril.
ISO HO 3 03 10 00: $500 for one tree and limit of $1000 regardless of the number of trees. Covered perils for HO3 is wind, ice, snow, sleet or hail. This SF policy was issued in Alabama. Someone check me on this. My ladder has a bunch of rungs missing:>) |
