Patterson Auto Group helps U.S. Adjusting Service

By Lee Grace/Times Record News

Sometimes, it’s a small world. Sue Hamilton, owner of U.S. Adjusting Service, decided she wanted her company to give away a new truck in honor of her late husband, Mickey Hamilton. He died four years ago while playing a round of golf at the Wichita Falls Country Club.

When she called Patterson Auto Group to see if they would sell her company a truck at cost for this giveaway, she was connected to Paul Tigrett, co-owner and chief executive officer. A chill ran through Tigrett’s spine as Sue Hamilton talked about her husband.

He finally admitted to her that he was with Mickey on the golf course when he had his fatal heart attack. “I administered CPR on him,” said Tigrett.

“We met the day before completely by chance. I happened to be in the pro shop on the Friday before that fateful day. Mickey had just joined the club and was there at same time that I was. Someone introduced us. Then, as it turned out, we were placed in the same group for the inaugural tournament for the reopening day of the golf course after its makeover the following day.”

Of course, Patterson Auto Group agreed to help Sue Hamilton and U.S. Adjusting Service honor Mickey Hamilton with the company’s truck giveaway. Salesman Henry Broadus of Patterson Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Kia-Ram, assisted them in selecting a truck.

Sue Hamilton stressed, “They made the whole process easy and seamless. They’re very professional and we appreciate all that Patterson Auto Group did for us.”

The drawing was held during U.S. Adjusting Service’s recent Las Colinas Adjusting School. They accepted more than 2,000 entries in the drawing. “Adjusters could earn more than one entry from their work,” explained Sue Hamilton. The winner was Zach Swisher of Rapid City, S.D. His prize was a 2012 RAM 1500 Lone Star Texas Edition 4x2 Quad Cab truck.

Sue Hamilton noted that their Catastrophe Adjuster Training Institute is the only school in the United States approved by the GI Bill for training.

Mickey and Sue Hamilton started U.S. Adjusting Service in 2005. The company has grown from one client to have a client base of 20 of the industry’s leaders. U.S. Adjusting utilizes the most qualified and expertly trained adjusters in the industry. “Our operations team has over 150 years of combined claims experience. We handle daily and catastrophe claims in both the residential and commercial sectors,” said Dawn Gentry, Sue and Mickey’s daughter and an executive with the company.

“Mickey worked for 23 years for another company and never got a bonus,” said Sue Hamilton. “That’s one of the reasons we wanted to give this truck away to a deserving insurance adjuster.”

Besides Gentry, the Hamiltons have two other daughters: Jessica Hamilton and Mickie Pszanka (of Rapid City, S.D.) Sue Hamilton noted, “Another example of this being a small world, our daughter Mickie Pszanka knows our winner, Zach Swisher.”
