Editing Posts  (United States)
I have not been able to determine how to edit a post once it has been posted. Guess I need to watch my spelling more closely. Roy, how do you edit the posts?

Re: Editing Posts  (United States)

Tom,

You you should a "edit" button in the right hand corner just above the text box.  I will check the setting just and see if I have edit turned on.

Thanks,

Roy

Tom, I found the problem, you should now see a "edit" button.

Thanks

Re: isRe: Editing Posts  (United States)

Ok, I'm not "feeling it!"  I can't find an 'Edit' button no matter how or where I look.

Please help!  I see "Add/Edit Post" at upper left but that only appears with a new post or a reply.

I can't figure out how to edit an existing post.

This should be the Numero Uno objection to having our

real names posted:  It shows how 'dumb' we can sometimes be!

I can now Edit!  Thanks Heavens, because my typing & spelling can be

atrocious!

Discovery!  I have an 'Edit' button on the Cat Central Forum, but not here

on the Community Forums.  I have an avatar on Cat Central but not on

Community Forums.  Can certainly live w/o the avatar, but stupidity

requires an 'Edit' button.

Also, what are the little stars about?

Thanks,

B.

Betrock, I'm sorry I missed your first post. Here are the answers to your questions.

Edit - You should now see the edit icon

Avatars - Each forum (Community Center and Catastrophe Central) have their own profile page.  For this forum just click on "My Settings" change your settings and add a avatar. (see the image below)

Stars - The stars are ratings,  when you visit a thread in this forum at the top of the post you will see a drop-down titled "Rate" using this will rate the topic. (see the image below)

Visitors please do not be afraid to explore the site after you login you will see buttons and links that you will not see until you login, it's OK to click the buttons and follow the links.  As I stated before one big advantage to the change I made in the user datebase is that it is now site driven, this means I can provide a lot more personalization.

Roy-

Thanks for all the great info.  I now have an edit button, and understand the stars.

Still can't get the avatar to 'stick'.  I go thru the process of uploading, (the size

is 100 x 30, same as in the other forum), the name shows in the box, click 'Update'.

No avatar in posts.  Go back to Settings, the avatar box is empty.  Repeat process

-same results - no avatar.

In the scheme of things, I really don't need an avatar - it's just a quirk that I can't figure out!!

Really like the new site.

Thanks,

Betrock
